Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Yas Island
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is one of the largest indoor theme parks ever built, and its arrival experience had to match the scale of the brand inside. Al Hamra Industries was selected to engineer, fabricate and install the tensile membrane canopies that crown the main entrance, together with extensive car park shade structures across the Yas Island site.
The entrance canopy is a signature architectural element: a sweeping, form-found membrane that shelters guests as they move between the drop-off zones and the park gates. Every panel was patterned and welded in our Sharjah facility, then tensioned on site over a calculated steel frame designed for the island’s coastal wind loads.
The project brought together an international delivery team — Farah Leisure as client, AECOM Middle East as consultant and Six Construct / Al Rakha Group as main contractor — with membranes sourced from two of the world’s leading technical fabric manufacturers: Ferrari of France (PVC) and Verseidag of Germany (PTFE).
Engineering & Delivery Highlights
