Sir Baniyas Private Beach Resort
Sir Bani Yas Island is one of Abu Dhabi’s most remarkable destinations — a wildlife reserve turned luxury island retreat. For the private beach resort on the island, Abu Dhabi Ports and Target Engineering Construction needed shade structures that could serve guests in comfort while standing up to one of the harshest combinations a structure can face: salt air, sand, humidity and open-sea wind.
Al Hamra Industries delivered a series of conical tensile canopies that march along the beachfront, shading the beach club, lounge areas and guest facilities. The repeated cone geometry creates an elegant rhythm against the horizon and sheds wind efficiently, while the bright membrane keeps the spaces beneath bright and cool.
Logistics defined this project as much as engineering. Every steel member and membrane panel was fabricated in Sharjah, shipped to the island and installed by our crews working within the main contractor’s programme — a demonstration of our ability to deliver complex tensile work in remote locations across the UAE.
